#2b... Conversations

.... continued from yesterday

Well I left the end of the last post wondering WHO I'm going to have a conversation with about simple truths. Who do I admire? People started coming to mind and I just couldn't decide, so I asked a bunch of people. (Thanks everyone for your input :) !!!) Here are some of the responses...

In the words of Paul McCartney, "Live and let die."  Live life to the fullest and let everything that is not beneficial die.

We are only here temporarily...If we live our lives for God we will spend eternity with him.

Let  go,  and  Let  God

This  too shall pass

What nourishes me also destroys me.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Keep an 'eternal' point of view.

The first thing that pops into my mind is to "be real and authentic before God and mankind" This gives you a pure relationship with God and with those you have around you.  To do this, you have to get real before God to find out who you really are and what masks you have to remove through His healing.

Put your faith and trust in God, be honest, have a strong work ethic.

Celebrate the little things. Smile a lot. Fail often.
Cultivate curiosity and allow yourself to be amazed.

Eliminate excuses, blame, and procrastination. Expect a lot from yourself, and cover yourself with a LOT of grace when you don't meet your own expectations. Reward yourself. Even when you fail.

It's okay to say "no"

No Ringy, No Dingy.

Remember what is important to other people.

Get over it. Quickly.

Trust your instincts.

It is difficult to drink from an empty cup. Make sure to fill yours when you can before offering it to others.

Try new things often.

"There are alway's two sides to every story", Don't alway's believe what you hear.
I've also heard this as: "There are three sides to every story: Person One, Person Two, and the Truth"

The hard stuff IS the good stuff.

The cream always rises to the top.

Blessed are the flexible, for they shell not get bent out of shape.

This trouble could may become the answer to my prayers.

Be careful what you say because you can never take it back.

If at first you don't succeed, try and try again.

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time (This is what my dad tells me in regards to paying my school loans..  :)  )

Shalom is broken, and therefore life doesn't go the way I want always.  If I can get my head around that, it affects my expectations and my gratefulness.  It helps me understand that of course there is sickness, death, disappointment, heart break, ugliness...that is appropriate to the condition of a fallen world.... we should be grateful that God has made a way to repair the rip in the goodness, and know that there is indeed a rip. One day, it will not be broken. There is a beauty and goodness that goes beyond what I can see.  Sometimes, I get a peak on this side of the curtain, but the hope of the gospel is that God has set all things right in the eternal now, what is known as the now and not yet Kingdom. I can track with that.  It doesn't make my tears less frequent, but it gives them meaning.
In summary:  All is not as it one day will be, but one day, it will be.  (Thanks Kim, I love you AND the great wisdom and discernment you always provide!)

God is stronger than any addiction, obsession, temptation, or fixation.

2 Corinthians 12:9-12     Luke 9:23-24     1 Thessalonians 5:15-18      Matthew 28:19-20     Isaiah 53:5     Psalm 23     2 Peter 5:8-12     Isaiah 40:21-31   (You can click on the verse to read, thanks Megan for looking up these Verses! Much love!)

If I get up every time I fall down, I will eventually get where I'm going.

Live for Today, Hope for Tomorrow, Learn from Yesterday
