She Reads Truth | Soul Detox | Day 20

Today’s Reading: Psalm 34:1-22

The LORD, a Provider and Deliverer.

Today’s Word:
In order to face the “what ifs” of fear, you must seek God until He takes away your fears.
How different could your life be if you put your full trust in God and strive to seek Him daily?
Yesterday’s post was about acknowledging fear, today is about seeking God through those fears.

Never be ashamed….
Is this what keeps us from dealing with our fears?
Shame?
Am I ashamed of my fears, and silence them because they are a weakness? A vulnerability? A sin?
To admit to fear is to admit to our doubt and sin.
Fear is lack of faith in God.
Fear causes stress.
Stress is lack of faith in God.
Stress causes a multitude of temptations to sin, (ie: a bad attitude).
Fear = Sin
I am not saying that all fear is sin.
Let’s clarify fear.
Sinless Fear: Fear of the LORD, fearful instinct to flee danger, fear to motivate a positive action, strengthens our faith etc.
Sinful Fear: paralyzes us; causes us to respond in sin, denial, excuses, self-focus; distracts us spiritually, sets us against God, increases our guilt, etc.
Sinful fear insults the Creator by giving more fear/power to his created.
Sinful fear sets us against God, which replaces God, and we fearfully worship the gods we replaced him with.
Bad Fear = Sin/Idolatry and bondage.
Dan 3:28Nebuchadnezzar responded and said, “Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, who has sent His angel and delivered His servants who put their trust in Him, [fn]violating the king’s command, and yielded up their bodies so as not to serve or worship any god except their own God.
  • We have to acknowledge/face our fears so that we can work through them with the strength given by the LORD.
  • We have to know why we fear so we can figure out the sins/idols in our lives that keep us in bondage instead of accepting our freedom in Christ.
  • We have to break free from the bondage of shame if we want end the control [bad] fear has over us.
How different could our life then be?
We would be free.
