She Reads Truth | Soul Detox | Day 6

Today’s Word: Hebrews 3 encourages us to fix our thoughts on Jesus; however, that can be difficult with so many toxic things trying to capture our thoughts away from Him. Our thoughts are so easily influenced by such toxic things as influences, relationships, and words. Strive to block out and remove all of the toxic things polluting your life and instead fix your thoughts on Jesus. Fixing your thoughts on Him is critical in filtering out all of the toxins in your life.
How different is your life when you focus your thoughts on what is true and good rather than on toxic things?
4 For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.
6
but Christ was faithful as a Son over His house-whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm until the end.

Toxic thoughts, automatically we think of the negative things, the bad things, the sinful things. Toxic is something that slowly kill us,… without us recognizing them.  Satan keeps us busy, keeps us preoccupied. And it’s not always with “bad” things.. sometimes good things are more dangerous then the bad things that have warning lights and caution tape all around them, and we tread lightly in their direction. how often are the toxic things: pride and taking credit for things that would not be possible were it not for Jesus and his blessings and provisions; stewardship and how we handle the blessings we’ve been overwhelmed with; media and things that consume us (Facebook stalking that leads to coveting, lust, etc.) or movies with content that isn’t good for us to watch.  I’m not saying a graphic or overly sexual movie, what about movies that are emotional porn, our feed our materialism?

How different is your life when you focus your thoughts on what is true and good rather than on toxic things?
I feel free. I worry less. I love more. I am more grateful. I trust others intentions, and have better decrement for certain people and situations.

Lord help me recognize the toxic thoughts, even the ones that aren’t “bad”, so I can reroute them towards you and be a better daughter of yours, better boss/employee, better sister, better wife, and hear your calling for my life and walk in that. To not be distracted and held captive, to find freedom from worry and stress that snowball from these things that hold our mind and hearts in captivity.
